UPDATE:From the bottom of our hearts- Thank You! Yesterday afternoon we got a call from a patient facing extreme circumstances, with extraordinary need and our community rose to the occasion. In total, we raised over $9,200 in a couple of hours- enough to help this patient through a trying time as well as some left over to help others. This is what you do when you support #AbortionFunds. This is community care and support. We are resilient and can take care of each other. I believe in us.

Women Have Options has been contacted about a patient from Ohio who has to have an emergency abortion TODAY. The problem is, this patient is over 20 weeks along in her pregnancy and post 20-week abortions are now illegal in Ohio.
When abortions are needed later in pregnancy, it’s often in very complex circumstances — the kind of situations where a patient and her doctor need every medical option available. But instead, she has had to travel to a clinic on the West coast TODAY to obtain the medical care she so desperately needs.
Her procedure is complicated and is going to cost her $10,000, plus travel expenses. Due to Ohio laws, she cannot get her medical care in-state. To add to the barriers, she's a public employee, and the state bans public insurance from covering this necessary health care and she's run out of time and other funding opportunities. She's drained her savings and got as many credit extensions as she possibly can, but is still $7,000 short.
We are not going to let her go without care, but we need help.

August through the end of September, join our online taco or beer challenge to raise funds for abortion access and immigrant / border justice!
For ToBC 2019 we will be doing things a little bit differently. The challenge will be the same. The difference will be where your donation dollars are going. While eating delicious tacos, a food that comes from Mexico, we will be fundraising for and uplifting local and national organizations that are doing immigrant justice / border justice work at this, one of the most difficult times for immigrants in our country’s history.
We will be fundraising for one of our favorite abortion funds, La Frontera Fund! They are a practical support fund located in the Rio Grande Valley and their day to day work is very much at the intersection of reproductive justice and immigrant justice.
We will also be fundraising for Solidarity with Edith Espinal and Miriam in Sanctuary. Edith Espinal has been a part of the Columbus, Ohio community for over 20 years, Miriam Vargas for 14, and both are currently forced to live in sanctuary because of cruel and unjust deportation policies. Family, friends, and community are fighting to keep Edith and Miriam not only home in Columbus, but also for them to be free to be at home with their families where they belong and deserve to be!
We're also sending some funds to the Mississippi Reproductive Freedom Fund who are supporting folks and families impacted by the ICE raids and related firings of immigrants in Mississippi. There are so many pregnant folks who recently gave birth impacted by the raids and they are helping these families stay afloat. You can also directly donate to them HERE or buy baby supplies from their GENERAL WISHLIST OR PERIOD/DIAPER SUPPLY WISHLIST.
And big news, WE'RE DOING A MATCH! WHO/O will be matching all donations up to $5000!!
Thanks for being awesome and directly helping to support both reproductive and immigrant justice locally and beyond!

We don't normally do this kind of funding ask, but these are extraordinary circumstances.
UPDATE: This person's emergency funding need has been met. Thank you! With online and offline donations we were able to cover the $8,000 gap to get her the care she needed. We are blown away by everyone's generosity! We will continue to keep this donation link active. Any gifts received over the amount of this emergency abortion cost will be used to help others in need of abortion funds.
Women Have Options has been contacted about a patient from Ohio having what seemed to be a typical pregnancy but, at her last check-up, they discovered severe complications and an abortion has been deemed medically necessary. The problem is, this patient is over 20 weeks along in her pregnancy and post 20-week abortions are now illegal in Ohio.
When abortions are needed later in pregnancy, it’s often in very complex circumstances — the kind of situations where a patient and her doctor need every medical option available. But instead, she has to travel to a clinic on the East coast this week to obtain the medical care she so desperately needs.
Her procedure is complicated and is going to cost her $12,000, plus travel expenses. Due to new laws, she cannot get her medical care in-state and her insurance won't cover her care. She's set up her own crowd-funding page to help her raise money, but she's only got $4000 and she's run out of time and other funding opportunities.
